As the co-convener of the 13th International Burma Studies Conference in Bangkok on August 3-5, 2018, along with the Center for Burma Studies, Northern Illinois University (United States), the Inya Institute is pleased to announce the following:
In line with its mission of building research capacity among Myanmar junior researchers, the institute will offer free methodological, technical, and editorial assistance to junior Myanmar researchers and scholars intending to present their papers at the conference (see www.13ibsc2018.com; see also conference announcement attached).
1. For those interested, the institute will run at the institute a session on March 24, 2018, at 1:30-3:30pm during which advice will be given on how to write up a paper abstract and questions from participants will answered about the conference. For those who can’t attend the session, a summary of the session will be posted on the following Facebook page: www.facebook.com/inyainstitute.org during the week of 26-30 March, 2018.

2. For those who submit their abstracts and have them accepted by the conference organizers, the institute will offer methodological, editorial, and technical assistance for free. This service will run from mid-May through late July 2018; practical details as to how this service will run will be given in due time to those whose papers are accepted. Please note that this assistance does not include any financial support for participating in the conference in Bangkok. Those participants who have theirs papers accepted must arrange their own air ticket to Bangkok, their own lodging there, and pay their registration fees (discounted for Myanmar participants and listed at www.13ibsc2018.com/registration.html).
